How the Rebate Works

Unlike resale homes, new construction properties are subject to HST. Most builders include the rebate in the sticker price, but if you are building your own home or renovating substantially, you must apply for it yourself.

• Builder Sales: Rebate is usually assigned to the builder.
• Owner Built: You apply for the New Housing Rebate.
• Investment: Use the “New Residential Rental Property” rebate.
