In Brampton, the average cost of buying or renting houses has increased dramatically in the past 60 months, since 2014.
TREB (Toronto Real Estate Board) report shows the average sale price at $744,590, a 63 per cent increase from $454,658 in 2014.
Similarly Brampton rental rates increased by 46.4 per cent spike in just 60 months.
TREB rental report showed the average cost for a one-bedroom apartment is $1,853 per month, compared to $1,266 in the second quarter of 2014.
Surrounding cities with more expensive rental rates than Mississauga include; Markham ($1,871 for a one-bedroom), North York ($1,925) and Etobicoke ($1,974 for a one-bedroom).
Toronto rentals are still the most expensive as a one-bedroom unit costs $2,226, and two-bedroom suites are now averaging at $2,782 per month.
